Autodesk Inventor has evolved into an incredible 3D design tool. Autodesk has done a great job updating it with new features and, more importantly, keeping it an extremely stable piece of software. The main reason I decided to use Inventor in my contracting firm was the sweet Suites Autodesk put together and continues to add to. Not only do you get Inventor and all of its specialized design components but also several versions of AutoCAD (everybody still needs AutoCAD), Vault (file manager), 3ds Max, and much more.

I’ve used it in several different product design disciplines and every new version gives it an even more “can do” attitude. 2D/3D prototyping, structural frames, welding, sheet metal, piping, hose/wire routing, complex surfaces, molds, mechanical interfaces, motion studies, it’s all here in Inventor. I’ve designed several large assemblies and drawing packages with it (15k+ components) and its always handled the job. All this and a user interface that is professional looking, intuitive, and pleasing to the eye. I’ve NEVER regretted my choice of going with Inventor and Autodesk’s design suite for my business.

When I first discovered Inventor, I was like, “woah, what is this?! I’m gonna DO This!” Inventor has fulfilled 99% of my designing needs and desires. It is one of my go-to tools any time I need to create a visual prototype and documentation.

The X-Factor for me though in my purchase of Inventor for my business was Ken Wilson and his team. Ken has that world-class professional, personable and innovative skillset that just makes me want to do business with him. He is always there to help me with my business and engineering goals with his fantastic insight and solution know-how.

Autodesk Inventor has evolved into a great 3D parametric CAD program since replacing its predecessor, Mechanical Desktop, twenty years ago. I especially appreciate the iPart functionality and intuitive drawing annotation and dimensioning capabilities. Other great features include the Frame Generator and Weldment modules. Autodesk adds these and other new useful modules with each new release. I highly recommended Autodesk Inventor as a great 3D parametric CAD tool.

Autodesk Inventor has been a most valuable design tool for me over the past 10 years or so with a major advantage being learning curve. It was extremely easy to learn and the support I received from my reseller was top notch. The Content Center has always had the components I needed. In a world of CAD choices, I’ve worked with many of the top names available but Inventor is still my choice when I have one.
